Top 10 Holiday-Movie Classics

It never feels quite like the holidays until you've sat down with your favorite holiday movie. Whether your child is already a holiday-cinema expert—and is making a list of favorites himself—or you're passing along your must-sees for the first time, settling down in front of the screen can be a highlight of the season. Here are a few selections from our top 10 list. You might want to add a couple of these to Santa's.

  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas!: He's mean and green... and we're guessing he won't stop Christmas from coming at your house
  • A Charlie Brown Christmas: After all these years, that little tree still makes you smile
  • Christmas in Connecticut: This slightly off-the-beaten-path holiday classic is the story of a mom trying to do it all. Sound familiar?
  • Holiday Inn: This film starring Fred Astaire was the first to feature Irving Berlin's classic song "White Christmas"
  • A Christmas Carol: Of all the versions of this holiday story (there are 33!), the 1951 film starring Alastair Sim gets our vote for most atmospheric
Happy holidays!
