Posted: 26 Dec 2008 03:47 AM CST

Watch the magic unfold in this perfect family adventure

Based on the books of C.S Lewis, this is the perfect Christmas movie.

When the Pevensie children play hide and seek and stumble on the magical world of Narnia, they find themselves in a corrupt magical realm.

The perfect film to flop in front of with the kids, after a day of shopping in the sales or eating the Christmas day leftovers, 5.50pm is the time to pencil in for some serious relaxing.

BBC1 - 5.50pm - The Chronicals of Narnia.

Six branches of McDonalds opened yesterday in the UK

Serving up Big Macs and fries on Christmas day may suit everyone but many enjoyed eating under the golden arches yesterday.

With some people eating fillet o fish instead of the typical Christmas turkey, the reasons are varied, one woman was simply avoiding cooking as she had family visiting today (boxing day) another prefered to fill up on Big Mac and simply avoid spending hours slaving in a kitchen..

A McDonald's spokeswoman said selected branches had opened on Christmas Day for the first time in 2006.

She said: "As a customer-led business, McDonald's has responded to requests to open on Christmas Day in six locations across the UK."

Hat tip to the sun.
