I'm a sucker for a sale. I also tend to believe signs, which can be a problem. Just because your local retailer claims something's on sale, doesn't necessarily mean it's true. Here's how to tell if you're getting the real deal.

The best tip is to think ahead. Now is a perfect time to stock up on holiday stuff for next year. For example, by the end of today, my Mom will have enough wrapping paper to wrap your house inside and out, and she'll get it for about 35 cents.
