Season ranking high at Tech
A day after defeating Clemson on the road for their fourth consecutive win, the Jackets (6-1) debuted in the top 25 of the Associated Press (writers) and USA Today (coaches) polls at No. 21. Georgia Tech also came in ranked No. 18 in the first BCS poll released Sunday.

What ever happened to ... Tim Worley
Ex-Bulldog Tim Worley. The last image most people have of the former UGA running back comes courtesy of a YouTube video from Fox 5 of Worley getting zapped with a Taser on April 13 by Smyrna police after being pulled over for weaving and suspicion of drunken driving.

Bulldogs No. 7 in BCS rankings
Okay, the first BCS standings are out and Georgia is No. 7. The goal is to finish the season ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in the final standings that will be released on Dec. 7. Given the schedule ahead, is that a real possibility for the Bulldogs (6-1)? Of course it is.

Football girl gets to play
Kacy Stuart, a 14-year-old Spalding County girl finally got her wish this weekend - to play as a kicker on her high school football team. And her team won. Stuart suited up after her school's prep league reconsidered its earlier decision barring her from playing because she's a girl.

Clark ran for 150 yards, passed for 181 and overwhelmed its Atlanta University Center rival 29-2 before a crowd of 7,567 at Clark's Panther Stadium.

Thrashers beat Buffalo in shootout
In outshooting an opponent for the first time all season, the Thrashers were rested and at home against a team that played the night before in Buffalo and didn't get into town until the wee hours of Friday morning.
