That amounts to $11 million in money owed to Georgia taxpayers. Decatur car dealership closed by judge Premier Chrysler Jeep Dodge on Church Street was closed by a receiver at the direction of a Gwinnett County judge, according to a notice posted at the business. A telephone call to the dealership was not answered Thursday. Updates on the Hawks/Thrashers ownership lawsuit Texas businessman David McDavid, 66, is suing Atlanta-based Turner Broadcasting System, which he alleges broke a contract to sell the Hawks and Thrashers pro teams to him. The trial in Fulton County Superior Court started three weeks ago and McDavid is slated to continue his testimony today. ATL hotel occupancy slump expected to continue Just two months ago, Mark Woodworth estimated that occupancy and room rates at Atlanta's hotels would rebound from the current economic downturn sometime in mid-2009. On Thursday he amended that prediction. Aflac's quarterly profit falls 76 percent The pain on Wall Street hit home Thursday at Columbus-based supplemental insurer Aflac Inc. The company said third quarter profit fell 76 percent, largely on losses incurred from its holdings in Lehman Bros., Washington Mutual and Ford Motor Co. •Southern Co. falls short of Wall Street estimates | SunTrust beats Street Dow plunges on global recession fears Wall Street is joining world stock markets in a precipitous plunge, with the Dow Jones industrials dropping more than 400 points in the opening minutes of trading.
