Coke bottler reports drop in net income
Coca-Cola Enterprises, Coca-Cola Co.'s largest bottler, reported Thursday a 20 percent drop in third-quarter net income, which fell to $214 million, or 44 cents per share.

Fuel costs deflate UPS earnings
Sandy Springs-based UPS, the world's largest package carrier, announced today that its revenue increased 7.4 percent in the third quarter, to $13.1 billion. But UPS's fuel bill for the quarter was $1.2 billion, a 64.5 percent increase over the third quarter last year.

The Orlando-based airline, which has its main hub in Atlanta, hired a pilot this week to trace messages in the sky such as "AIRTRAN SALE" and "FLY AIRTRAN" above the Georgia Dome, over downtown Atlanta and in other places around the metropolitan area.
