Call me overly cautious, but I like my trends at least 10 years old. North Carolina band makes soulful, positive music
Laura Reed and Deep Pocket are about to embark on a high profile tour. Later this year, the band is going to be a part of Green Train, a concert and train tour with musicians such as Willie Nelson, Jewel, Dave Matthews Band, Cher and John Mayer. Reed got her band the gig by being spontaneous. She was at the tour organizer Bob Wolf's house in Nashville, Tenn., and approached him about joining the tour. She then started singing for him, on the spot.

Film based on Nicholas Sparks book drawing attention in Charleston

Adapted by screenwriter Jamie Linden ("We Are Marshall") from the novel by Nicholas Sparks, the feature film "Dear John" is approximately midway through its 10-week shoot in the Charleston and Harleyville areas, with additional location filming having taken place on Edisto Island.
