BREAKING NEWS

The Braves have ended trade talks for Padres ace Jake Peavy.

The Braves have ended negotiations with the San Diego Padres to obtain pitching ace Jake Peavy, according to Braves general manager Frank Wren.

Wren told the AJC he has informed Padres GM Kevin Towers of the decision. Wren said the team will continue to pursue starting pitching, its main offseason goal, and could not wait on the Padres.

Starting today, Major League Baseball teams can make offers to free agents previously with other teams.
