Youths convicted in man's death

Two teenagers were convicted Monday of shooting a man to death during a neighborhood fight in North Charleston earlier this year. They are among the youngest to be convicted of murder in Charleston County. Each was 14 years old when he committed the crime.

Senate overrides Sanford veto of DNA sampling bill

COLUMBIA â€" The state Senate made short work Monday of Gov. Mark Sanford's veto of a bill that would allow law enforcement agencies to collect DNA samples at the time of arrest for certain crimes. Before the bill could become effective, it also must be overridden in the House, a move that will likely be considered later this week while the Legislature is meeting under special circumstances to handle a budget meltdown.
