| After eight long years of George W. Bush's destructive, anti-woman policies, seeing Obama in the White House will be a breath of fresh air. So will seeing his daughters, Sasha and Malia, and his wife, Michelle. The world will be watching as these women make 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue their home, and without even trying, they will be changing the world's notions of strength, beauty and opportunity. The psychological impact of that is arguably as powerful -- and certainly as meaningful -- as any piece of policy. Ritu Sharma from Women's eNews has the story in this week's issue of Reproductive Justice & Gender. As always, thanks for reading, Heather Gehlert Managing Editor, AlterNet | |
