| Jon Gaunt axed for calling a Councillor a “Nazi” Posted: 21 Nov 2008 06:07 AM CST
Top rated radio presenter John Gaunt Sony Gold Award winner, Jon Gaunt was this week sacked from his top rated chat show by Talksport. Gaunty, 47, repeatedly called Councillor Michael Stark a “Nazi” on air but apologised saying he meant “Health Nazi”. The debate with Stark was fierce with Gaunt furiously arguing that Foster parents were capable of being good parents even if they smoked and said that the good people that want to look after kids don’t always smoke in the house as Stark had earlier claimed that all foster parents smoke indoors. Michael Stark said “good” when Gaunt told him he had been in care which riled Gaunt further. This whole row was regarding a 2010 policy that will ban any smokers from becoming a Foster parent. Since the broadcast and subsequent sacking, there has been a Facebook petition created here the full interview can be heard here, which should be listened to before making any judgement. 28 Sheep killed in savage attacks in Somerset.. Farmer John Chislett has lost 28 prize sheep in three weeks and fears that many more if not all will be killed soon unless he either sells up and moves on with his stock or hires a 24 hour surveillance team. Mr Chislett believes this is the work of a large and savage wild-cat, “This is no dog, they have slashes across them, deep rips in their sides, their guts have been pulled out and their ears ripped off. Two have had their throats ripped out. “A dog will chase, worry, kill and leave, or the sheep often die from the worry of the chase, but this is not the work of a dog.” Three other farmers in the Stoke St Michael area have had some of their stock mutilated in the past month. John Sergeant - Strictly Favourite After his sensational exit (more here) from Strictly Come Dancing this week, fans have been complaining in the thousands to get the rolly polly political journalist back on the show. More than 10,000 have signed up at www.bringbackjohn.co.uk to call for his return, the BBC closed part of the Strictly site after fans crashed it. Now, with over 2,000 telephone complaints in less than 24 hours, Strictly is in danger of becoming a laughing stock. At the DailyDust we believe that John should have stayed and won and are going to be fully behind any campaign to bring him back. Sir Trevor McDonald delivered his final news at ten last night.. Sir Trevor McDonald, the UK’s first black TV new anchorman said “and finally..” for the very last time last night on ITV’s News at Ten. Sir Trevor, 69, has been with ITN since 1973 and will continue to work for ITV’s Tonight program.
