Drawn To Murder

Saturday, Nov. 29, 9-11 p.m. ET/PT

In February 1987, people in Fort Collins, Colo. were on edge, after a woman named Peggy Hettrick was found murdered and sexually mutilated in a field.

Police were immediately drawn to a local teenager named Tim Masters, largely because of his disturbing drawings, and his knife collection. One detective especially made it his personal mission to bring Masters to justice. It took almost a decade, but he was finally convicted, and sentenced to life.

In many ways, that’s where this story begins. It became an international case, with sophisticated forensic techniques and stunning twists and turns.

Correspondent Susan Spencer reports on this riveting case. Is the wrong man facing a death sentence? Should he go free? And how can there be justice for Peggy Hettrick?

Tune in for a special two-hour edition of 48 Hours Mystery, Saturday, Nov. 29, beginning at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
