Vandals squeezed glue into the front door keyholes of 70 downtown Charleston stores overnight, delaying some business openings and rattling already stressed store managers.

Drayton Hall Elementary in limbo on $2M charter question

Drayton Hall Elementary stands to gain about $2 million more a year by converting to a charter school, but Charleston County school officials say giving it that money would adversely impact the district's other schools. Air Force captain helps shape parade

Planning President-elect Barack Obama's inaugural parade is no small job, and a Charleston Air Force Base captain is in the thick of it all. "It's definitely been an experience," says Capt. Christopher Moore, who works for the base's public affairs office but volunteered to help plan the military's role in the upcoming inauguration.
