Bond Screenplay Sells for £46k

Posted: 08 Dec 2008 12:31 AM CST

The screenplay for a James Bond film that was never made on the big screen was sold at auction for £46,000.

Warhead, which was written by Sean Connery, author Len Deighton and producer Kevin McClory never reached the big screen because of legal problems. According to the BBC, the script included "robot sharks attempting to plant a nuclear bomb in sewers underneath New York".

The lot was part of Christie's Pop Culture: Entertainment Memorabilia auction. The script was only expected to sell for around £3,000. Christie’s Katherine Williams said “Numerous lots far exceeded pre-sale expectations, demonstrating the continued appeal and durability of the pop culture market.”
