Lawmakers are back on Capitol Hill, dealing with an auto industry that’s running on empty. Democrats want to use part of the $700 billion Wall Street bailout to help Detroit's Big Three automakers. The White House says the money should come from another program already OK'd by Congress. What will it mean for you if the automakers fail? Jim Axelrod takes a look.
There was a "defining moment" today in the Chicago transition office of President-elect Barack Obama. That's where he met with his former presidential rival, Sen. John McCain. The men say they plan to work together to "fix up the country." Dean Reynolds takes a look at what that might mean.
Mark Cuban, the owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks is playing defense, denying allegations of insider trading. The Securities and Exchange Commission alleges the billionaire used confidential information on a 2004 stock sale to avoid more than $750,000 in losses. Investigative correspondent Armen Keteyian has the latest.
In Southern California, calmer winds are helping efforts to contain three wind-swept wildfires. But nearly 1,000 homes have been destroyed in five counties, and today, many returned to find charred ruins where their homes once stood. John Blackstone reports.

AUTO INDUSTRY RIPPLE EFFECT- Congress kicked off a special lame-duck session Monday, and a partisan battle awaits over the fate of the nation's Big Three automakers. Senate Democrats were trying to earn GOP support for their proposed bailout of the Big Three automakers. But will the billion dollar bailout bill pass to save this financial lifeline? We’ll talk about how the auto industry failing could have a ripple effect on the economy, and affect millions of other jobs.
WALL STREET BONUSES - It's no secret that investment bankers are well compensated mostly through year end bonuses. But will they receive big bonuses this year in the midst of the financial crisis, and will all of the executives accept their bonuses? It’s been reported that 7 executives at Goldman Sachs are refusing their bonuses this year, to help the economy. We’ll take a look at how much money this will save, and if it will make a different at all, considering thousands of people receive bonuses every year. CBS News correspondent Priya David has the story.
STEPHEN COLBERT OF COLBERT REPORT - Legendary faux-news anchor, Stephen Colbert of the Colbert Report, will be joining us in the studio to talk about his new Christmas special show to air next week. PART TWO: IDENTITY THEFT - Tuesday we continue our three part series on Identity theft, with a look at two women who were scammed out of thousands of dollars. Scammers were using pictures of other men and making women fall in love with them through internet dating sites. Consumer correspondent Susan Koeppen will show us how it’s being done
DANIEL RADCLIFFE - Daniel Radcliffe may be best known for playing the boy wizard in the blockbuster "Harry Potter" franchise, but he's making a different type of magic these days - he made his Broadway debut in the hit thriller Equus. Many are calling it his breakthrough performance and Daniel will be live in our studio to talk about his exciting new role and what he has planned for his future on Broadway.
30TH ANNIVERSARY OF JONESTOWN - Three decades ago on Wednesday, an unusual series of events led to the deaths of more than 900 people in the middle of a South American jungle. Though dubbed a "massacre," what transpired at Jonestown on November 18, 1978, was to some extent done willingly, making the mass suicide all the more disturbing. A total of 912 people committed suicide, believing that they were sacrificing their lives to preserve their church and their beliefs. Wednesday is the 30th anniversary of this bizarre event, and we’ll look back at it.
