Tom Is Crowned King Of Strictly

Posted: 21 Dec 2008 03:33 AM CST

After last weeks voting blunder by the BBC, Tom was last night crowned King of the ballroom..

Following last weeks voting scandal that saw him scrape through, Tom Chambers, 31, won the dance off last night.

The former Holby City actor had been given the lowest score by the show's judges for his first two dances after being allowed through to the final after last week's fiasco.

In the final three with Rachel Stevens, 30, and Lisa Snowden, 36, Tom saved his best dance for the finale.

Making it to the final two with Rachel, Tom put on a show-stopping showdance which finally gave him the chance to be like Fred Astaire.

Judge Arlene Philips said “All I can say is WOW..you have the ease of Fred Astaire, the rhythm of Gene Kelly, the drive of Jeremy Clarkson and the posture of Daniel Craig walking out of the sea.”

Craig Revel-Horwood called the performance as “you are like Bisto gravy truly: you saved the best ’til last”.

Tom said to Camilla Dallerup after winning “Tonight is about you because you deserve this more than anyone”.

The show has been tinged with objections from many dance fans that this series is more of a popularity contest than a dance contest, fans have been simply voting for whom they prefer rather than the best dances as Tom showed last night with two mediocre performances early in the show, including one trip.

Premier League: Big Sam impact, but Adams and Zola in big trouble

Posted: 20 Dec 2008 04:14 PM CST

Saturday’s football results kept this season’s trend of topsy-turvy results going, as Sam Allardyce immediately set Blackburn away for their first win in a long time and will no doubt have the club’s relegation odds reversed before long. Villa maintained their Champions League aspirations at the expense of West Ham who are, along with Tony Adams’ rather shocking Portsmouth side, looking dangerously like a potential big-name casualty of the drop.

No word, though, on how Roy Keane feels about Sunderland’s big back-to-back wins so soon after his departure.

West Ham 0-1 Aston Villa: No luck for Hammers
Fulham 3-0 Middlesbro’: Murphy & Bullard star
Blackburn 3-0 Stoke City: Big Sam’s dream debut

Eurovision’s Not Ready for Risque, thinks Nortons

Posted: 20 Dec 2008 10:58 AM CST

New Irish commentator for the BBC to keep it clean in Moscow.

Having grown up with Terry Wogan as the Eurovision host, just as many thirty-somethings have, Graham Norton has talked about how he hopes to make his mark on the competition, but thinks he’ll be toning down his more risque style.

"”I imagine this year I won’t say very much because I don’t want to tread into Terry’s world too much,” he told the BBC Newsbeat team. “If I am lucky to do it again I might build my part.”

His Eurovision journey started this year as the host of the Eurovision Dance Contest in Glasgow, and will continue in the UK National Final where six contestants will face a public vote to decide who will represent the UK in Moscow when May 2009 arrives.

Sony To Take the Kink Out of the Home

Posted: 20 Dec 2008 10:46 AM CST

PS3 Boss Looking To Tweak Human Nature.

Not strictly UK, but there’s a lot of interest in the PS3, and I couldn’t let this mis-quote from Sony Director John Koller go without a mention. He was asked about the harassment female avatars are reciving on the PS3 virtual world “Home” that users can live in.

Koller said Home is still in “open beta” and figuring out how to do moderation. “There’s still a few kinks to be worked out,” he said. “This is something we look to solve immediately.”

I think that the working out is something that human nature will continue to do!

Jobless rate worst in quarter-century

The number of people out of work in South Carolina soared in November to its highest rate in 25 years, and to make matters worse, the state Employment Security Commission says it will run out of money for jobless claims in two weeks unless the state asks for $146 million in federal aid. The jobless level soared to 8.4 percent, half a percent higher than the revised 7.9 percent of people claiming jobless benefits in October.

Gamecocks coach not 100 percent satisfied with effort in win over The Citadel

COLUMBIA â€" Imagine that. The first team to make South Carolina sweat at home this season is the same one that lost by 61 here a year ago. "I've thought about it a lot," The Citadel coach Ed Conroy said of last year's opener. The Gamecocks started slowly Saturday afternoon and the Bulldogs made them work for an 80-66 victory inside the Colonial Life Arena.

Duck calling tips for the second season

When duck hunting on public waters, I often wonder what the ducks think when shooting time arrives. As long as it is not too windy, you can hear hunters attempting to call ducks from miles away. The noise can be more deafening than a pup tent full of mosquitoes. I sit there and think that a couple thousand wild mallards in the same location don't even sound that vocal. I can only imagine what the real ducks coming off of the roost think of the clamor.

McIlveen enjoys his return to Charleston

Paul McIlveen still has plenty of friends in the South Carolina Stingrays locker room. But McIlveen was forced to put those friendships aside for the weekend. The former Stingray scored the game-winning goal in the second period and added an assist to lead Elmira past South Carolina, 3-2, Saturday night before a crowd of 4,206 at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Kiffin returns jab

COLUMBIA â€" Lane Kiffin's first game as a college head coach is still months away. But he wasn't shy Saturday in taking on Steve Spurrier and further fueling the budding rivalry between Tennessee and South Carolina. With another coach headed from Columbia to Knoxville, Kiffin was asked Saturday whether he felt bad about ruffling some Gamecocks' feathers. Evidently not.

Pride restored to line

When Clemson's running game couldn't get going early in the season and running backs C.J. Spiller and James Davis were struggling to get any positive yardage, much of the blame was thrown at the Tigers' offense line. It was criticism from fans and the media that Clemson junior center/guard Thomas Austin took personally.

Urgent Attention/Park Sungman

Hang Seng Bank Ltd,
Yau Tsim Mong Branch,
One Grand Tower G/F,
639 Nathan Road
Kowloon West, Hong Kong Island
Website; www.hangseng.com.hk

Dear Friend,

I am Mr.Park Sungman credit officer of the Hang Seng Bank Ltd.I have an urgent
and very confidential business proposition for you.

I honestly apologize and hope I do not cause you much embarrassment by
contacting you through this means for a transaction of this magnitude, but this
is due to confidentiality and prompt access reposed on this medium, sorry my
English is not very good.Furthermore, due to this issue on my hands now,it became
necessary for me to seek your assistance, and it is imperative for me to know
your opinion.

Five years ago,a Malaysian Oil Consultant/Contractor with the Chinese Petroleum
and Chemical corporation Mr. Hong Achai made a numbered time(Fixed) Deposit for
twelve calendar months, valued at US$13,000,000.00(Thirteen Million United State
Dollars only) in my branch. Upon maturity,I sent a routine notification to his
forwarding address but got no reply. After a month,we sent a reminder and finally
we discovered from his contract employers, the Hong Kong Petroleum and
ChemicalCorporation that Mr. Hong Achai died from an automobile accident.

On further investigation,I found out that he died without making a WILL and all
attempts to trace his next of kin were fruitless.I therefore made further
investigation and discovered that Mr. Hong Achai did not declare any kin or
relations in all his official documents, including his Bank Deposit paperwork in
my Bank.

This sum of US$13,000,000.00(Thirteen Million United State Dollars only) is
still sitting in my Bank and the interest is being rolled over with the
principal sum at the end of each year.No one will ever come forward to claim it.
According to Laws of Hong Kong,at the expiration of 5(five)years,the money will
revert to the ownership of the Hong Kong Government if nobody applies to claim
the fund.

Consequently,my proposal is that I will like you as a foreigner to stand in as
the next of kin to Mr. Hong Achai so that the fruits of this old man'slabor
will not get into the hands of some corrupt government officials. This is
simple,I will like you to provide immediately your full names and address so
that the attorney will prepare thenecessary documents and affidavits that will
put you in place as the next of kin.

We shall employ the services of an attorney for drafting and notarization of
the WILL and to obtain the necessary documents and letter of
probate/administration in your favor for the transfer. The money will be paid
into your account for us to share in the ratio of 50% for me and 40% for you and
10% for Expenses Incurred in the course of the transaction.

There is no risk at all as all the paperwork for this transaction will be done
by the attorney and with my position as the credit officer guarantees the
successful execution of this transaction.

Upon your response,I shall then provide you with more details and relevant
documents that will help you understand the transaction. Please send me your
confidential telephone and fax numbers for easy communication.

You should observe utmost confidentiality, and rest assured that this
transaction would be most profitable for both of us because I shall require your
assistance to invest my share in your country.

Awaiting your urgent reply.
Thanks and regards.
Mr. Park Sungman
N.B; for security reason, please reply to my
confidential email address;(parksungmann@yahoo.com.hk)
