Bluesman Eric Lindell comes to the Pour House
On Friday night, Eric Lindell will be featured at the Pour House on James Island. Lindell's second album, "Low on Cash, Rich in Love," has made quite the impact on the blues scene, and visitors to the Pour House are sure to be rocked by his soul-bearing melodies. Lindell is originally from the San Francisco area of California. He claims that his passion for music, like most gifted musicians, started when he was very young.

Film based on Nicholas Sparks book drawing attention in Charleston

Adapted by screenwriter Jamie Linden ("We Are Marshall") from the novel by Nicholas Sparks, the feature film "Dear John" is approximately midway through its 10-week shoot in the Charleston and Harleyville areas, with additional location filming having taken place on Edisto Island.

Solicitor reviews fire probe

Charleston police have completed their nearly 18-month investigation into the deadly Sofa Super Store fire, and prosecutors are reviewing the results to see if criminal charges are warranted, Police Chief Greg Mullen said Wednesday. Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson said she has begun wading through the "voluminous and thorough" material and hopes to have recommendations on the case within six weeks.
