It wasn't clear late Wednesday afternoon whether that meant the North Charleston charter school for at-risk students would have to close immediately or whether it could stay open as it pursues another appeal. More evident was the commitment of the charter school's leadership to keep the school open. Left out in the coldR.W. Crime and the economy intersectThe local Crime Stoppers affiliate wants to clarify something for the public: they're a nonprofit, not a police agency. While some nonprofits feed the hungry or house the homeless, Crime Stoppers helps solve crimes. But like others nonprofits, the group is concerned about raising enough money at a time when needs are increasing. | ||||
