Barack Obama is fond of saying there's only one president at a time, but he's putting his capital on the line early by jumping into the debate over a bailout bill for the auto industry -- and could wind up owning a stumbling economy a bit earlier (and more completely) than he would have liked, ABC News senior political reporter Rick Klein writes in Wednesday's Note. And John McCain is back -- looking comfortable with his loss, even as his former running mate continues to dominate the GOP real estate.

Ex-arena player bites off officer's fingertip
Michael Rayfield Hodges, 25, who played for the Tri-Cities Fever of arenafootball2, was being held in the Franklin County jail in Washington State, where he was evaluated by mental health professionals. Police say Hodges forced his way into a secured area at an airport and bit off the fingertip of an officer during a jail scuffle.

New policy provides the Georgia Baptist Convention the ability to refuse donations from entities out of sync with Southern Baptist beliefs. The only church that currently falls into that category is the 2,700-member Decatur First Baptist headed by the Rev. Julie Pennington-Russell.

A Kennesaw restaurant had its license to serve alcohol revoked after pictures of underage drinkers were posted on Facebook, the popular social networking Internet site.

NAACP opposes moving Clayton graves
The Clayton County NAACP and a neighborhood association implored the county Tuesday to not allow 311 historic African-American graves to be dug up and reburied. The abandoned graves near the Atlanta airport date to the 1880s and may include former slaves.

Gwinnett students salute veterans
At precisely 9:30 a.m., 230 fifth-graders filed into the Sycamore Elementary School gymnasium. They wore red, white and blue T-shirts with their Sugar Hill school's name emblazoned across their chests in the form of an American flag. With song and the recitation of history, with certificates of honor and gold medals bearing an eagle, a school and a community came together to observe Veterans Day.
